Dr. Adeola Oke: [00:00:36] Are you’re a busy working mom, and do you want to achieve your goals? 

Hello, my name is Dr. Adeola Oke. I am three health care providers in one. I’m a pharmacist, nurse, and I also have a degree in public health. And most importantly, I’m a mom of five. 5 beautiful angels. Ranging from, I have a 16 year old or 14 year old, a 7 year old and 4 year old twins.

So I have a lot on my plates, but even though I do have this, I’m still able to- I’m still working; should I say, striving to achieve my goals.

 So in the past, right, I used to be so stressed out, so stressed out. And I  just have this brain fog: I constantly cannot remember anything. Just trying to just live day-to-day just surviving, not thriving. Right. 

So one day I think it was in 2019. I was sitting in front of my computer, really tired, really tired. And then this AD came on about a green juice and I’m like, you know what? I need some energy right now. I really could use some of this. So I went to the store, I bought myself some and it didn’t give me the energy I wanted.

I said, okay, maybe this one is not working. Let me go buy another one. I tried another one. First of all:  it tasted nasty too, and it didn’t give me the energy I wanted. And I was like, you know what? I currently use turmeric. I use this supplement. I use that supplement. You know what? I can totally make mine. 

And I’m like, I’m a pharmacist. I know the doses. I can research do this, do that. And I can come up with mine. And that’s exactly what I did. I formulated my own premium, super green powder. Designed to give the body the tools to support a healthy stress response- you know, that’s my big thing stress- because it helps lower cortisol level. Um, promotes a healthy immune response, promote a healthy inflammatory response, boost energy levels.

Yay!

 That’s really important to me and do so much more. So I did this for me. Right. And I started using it and I’m like, Oh my gosh, this works. I am sure a lot of busy moms out there will really benefit from it. So I decided to manufacture.  That was a lot of work. Okay. I had to put things into practice. Um, set my goals and try to achieve them.

And so since taking the green juice, I get some much needed greens every day, because all I need to do is just add water to it, drink it. This is it, actually. Put a scoop. Put water to it,  drink it. Or I could actually put it in my smoothie, but most of the time I just put water because I’m like busy, busy, busy.

Right. Um, all right. So, um, it gives me the energy. I really need. Some days I’m like ‘Oh gosh, I can’t get out of bed’. Yes. Just take a scoop of that, put it in water. Like yesterday, actually I just sit down there and just like, ‘Okay! I got the energy now let’s go get through this day!’.

 And it gives me the mental clarity I need to navigate my day every day.

I ensured that I have, like, it cleanses me out everyday. So I’m sure about that, that that’s going to happen. So I’ve dedicated this product, this green juice to all the beautiful moms out there when you leave a long helping and blissful life. 

So that’s my story, right? So are you a busy working mom? Do you want to achieve your goals. 

And that’s what we want to talk about today. I’m going to tell you what has worked, worked for me first and foremost. You need to love yourself. Love yourself. You need me-time- dedicated me-time.

 I plan my day, every day. I know I wake up at this time. This time I exercise this time I go to work this time I spend time. Like of course,  the kids always come in, but then after work, I dedicate time.

Like I, I dedicate time to be with them till eight o’clock. And so from eight to 10:00 PM is me time. Adeole time. 

Need to do my thing. Do stuff that makes me happy. Work on my goals and things like that. So love yourself and you need your dedicated me-time. That’s number one. 

Number two is set boundaries, set boundaries.

Okay. Um, um, guys, I’m available at this time. This time is my time. This time mommy is doing this this time. I’m going to spend time with you. And let everybody know these boundaries, including your parents, your kids, and your spouse. Okay. Cause there’s no point in having boundaries and nobody knowing about them.

Right. All right. Then another one is, write down your goals. When you write down down goals, you’re able to process it. You’re able to work on it. You’re able to give it timelines. Okay. This goal, I want to achieve it by this time.

 Measurable goal. Um, timeline, realistic goals. 

So write down those goals.  Journal about it. What do you want to achieve? What’s your mission statement? How are you going to do it? Do you need people to guide you along the way? Do you need a coach? Blah, blah, blah.

 All right. Um, number four, carry your family along as you, you go about on this road to achieving your goals. They say ‘Oh my gosh! My mom is able to- my mom is a mom of five. She’s still working full time and she’s still able to achieve her goals, so I can definitely do this!’

So you will be like a role model to your kids. But you have to carry them along. You have to make them enjoy the process with you. If not, they just going to be angry. So, so just let them know what’s going on.

Yeah. And if they can help you, let them help you. Okay. Um, and sure. The, um, so the that’s that’s number four, right?

 Number five is ensure that you set on uninterrupted time to spend with your kids and your spouse. So they know that you have me-time, but they also have your time that they have their own time in your own daily schedule.

So a certain time, spend with the kids. All right. And if, if you can, this is really hard, but if you can spend dedicated amount of time with each child, so each week or each month or something, but something that works for you, right. So what they should have their time that they can, that you just spend with them uninterrupted. And then also with your spouse. 

Another one is number six, eat a healthy diet and exercise. Right? Exercise releases all those feel good hormones. This, um, if this feel good, homelands makes you feel good. If possible. Go outside, get some fresh air that helps releases the toxins in your body. And it just, it just makes you feel better.

I realized I went like, okay, I’m tired. I’m this. I’m that. I just go, I just make myself go on that walk. And then by the time I’m done with that exercise, I feel so good. Alright, just walking. It doesn’t have to be anything strenuous, just go on and walk. You will feel so much better. 

And lastly, number seven, lastly, and most importantly, Ask for help. Don’t be that supermom that wants to take on the world that feel that you have this cape, that you cannot let anybody help you… ask for help. Ask for help from your children. Ask for help from your spouses. If you can pay for help, pay for help, please. There’s no shame in that. Okay. So please, there’s no shame in asking for help.

So that’s all I have for you today. How you can, how, even though you’re. A busy working mom, how you can achieve your goals.
